Really?!! If you’re talking girls, Here are the facts:
2010- Top bracket 0-3. Lost to 2 GA and 1 ECNL team.
2009- No teams
2008- Top Bracket but bracket C with no GA or ECNL teams in it. Finished 1-1-1 against 2 DPL and 1 ECRL (regional) team
2007- Top Bracket but Bracket B with no GA or ECNL teams in it. Finished 1-0-2 against 3 DPL teams
2006- Third Bracket. Finished 3-0 against 2 national league teams and 1 ECRL team.
RI Surf are exactly what people think they are…one of the better teams in the 3rd level of play in New England.
1- ECNL, 2- GA, 3- Impact/ENRL/DPL

They play in a 3rd tier league against low levels of competition. They have to create "Surf Select" teams and sell trips to Spain to their families otherwise why would anyone ever play for them? The people who can afford these trips and use these "Select" teams to visit cool places with their families do it right, anyone who thinks these teams or trips are going to get their kids to play at a high level in college are out of their minds.
The only pathway here leads to a sausage cart.

Guest repliedOriginally posted by Guest View PostYou are absolutely correct! They blow smoke up their butts and they buy into it. The traveling to Spain gets me the most. They should take a family vacation and let their kids play 5v5 against the real talent in Spain.
However, the politics played by the coaches will get their players awards they don’t really deserve and into places they really won’t fit in or deserve to be. It’s a setup for failure.

It has nothing to do with talent, all about who they know. Surf coaches know the parents that will take the bait, hook line and sinker!

So basically you are saying they are a glorified town team that you pay a lot for. 2007 and 2006 elite blue or whatever they call it are prob the best around but these girls are also moving to other clubs that are ecnl or ga. So yea they will go back and forth on the boards.
Just wondering when they will get some good coaches? Have you heard the yelling that goes on at these games? Some of them shouldn’t even be around youth. No one looks like they are having fun too afraid to get moved to the c team.

Guest repliedI guess you can go to Bayside and watch parents yell at other people’s kids, yell at referees, and then blow their air horns and ring their cowbells on a goal. All they need is Christopher Walken asking for more cowbell.
