    Rhode Island surf

Looking at the Rhode Island surf or aka GPS why do they have a central white team (c team) that plays Against good town teams. How can RI surf call that team premier when they don’t cut anyone? The amount those parents pay for this premier c team is horrible. They should just go to ocean state north Kingston soccer where they will be playing in the same league and paying half the price and actually be developed more as a player. Looks to me like RI surf just wants to collect money and have as many teams as they can and sell it to the parents as a premier team.

News flash… clubs are for the $. Especially for profit clubs. You need to evaluate why you are there. If you are C team, may be better off just sticking to town.

Club is only worth it if you are on the A team. If you are on the B team or Second team, you’d better see a lot of playing time, be in the starting 11, and be looked at as a possibility for the first team in the coming year. If you are on the third team ie C team waste of money and competitive town paired with clinics is likely best path.

Surf is a nice starter club option in RI. But once your kid hits 13 you need to move on to the clubs with the ECNL pathway to be noticed later if they want to play in college. There’s a couple ECNL clubs in mass and CT you can drive to if your kid makes a team.

They meant to also say GA teams...

No. Just ECNL. They have the best college pathway.

There are some players over at Surf well past 13 who are almost certainly on recruiters' radars already. ECNL may have its advantages, but player quality clearly isn't limited to those clubs with the badge.

If you get friendly with the hierarchy of RI surf and the coaches, your kid or kids will always make the top team even thou they should not

                    Not just that

Easier is come to Rhode Island to get an easy path to nationals. It’s much easier to win a path than in Massachusetts.

coaches will go after the yummy mummy especially JM.
He’s already broken up one marriage on his team and has driven the player into a downward spiral.

Check him out he’s already married and divorced one of his college players. Divorced and is now on the prowl beware.

Yup. And the only college job since has been CCRI which is a shell of a program that it once was because of NCAAJC rules.
Siurf reminds me of a step between Town Select and Premier

How can RI be a pathway to Nationals? On the girls side they do not have a GA or ECNL team.

Lousy club. Few good teams. Minimal development. Anywhere else likely better.

All fields are too small. RI state of mind I guess? Like another poster said over reliance on smaller than regulation goals in uLittle does a disservice.
