The leagues are awash once you're not in the top 2. Pick the best coach and fit near your home, not too much travel (which rules out ENCR). "Best" will vary location to location.

Funny part is the ECNL kids and GA kids will all be playing with the USYS and ECRL kids.

ECNL kids on my daughter DIII team didn't play much at all. All her USYS soccer alumns had a good time playing.

Watch Hudl videos on ECNL and RL teams U17 and up.

For the most part, very little difference.

Think of it like "gifted" kids in elem school. They get identified early, parents get excited. By the time HS rolls around, the good students regardless of what they did in elem school are taking AP and Honors. No one talks about gifted kids anymore. Those "gifted" kids are going to the same colleges the "non-gifted" kids are going to.

Hard work made up for any early natural ability. Granted, there are the few kids who are truly gifted but they are few and far between.

which goes to show if you are good you will make it but if you aren't just fake it.

USYS is about 20% of D1 rosters on the girls side and 15% on the boys

What's more important is who plays the most, not just making rosters

Less than 1% of all of these kids are going pro so who cares what league they play in? Play, learn life lessons and have fun. Period.

Find the best coach / team within your budget and driving distance. Doesn't matter if they are ECNL, ECNL-RL, GA or USYS. There is overlap in level on all of these depending on the team. If the player is good, it doesn't matter where they play, they will get noticed. A 15-year-old from USYS just signed with Washington Spirt. Ignore the puffed-up parents on this site. Find a good coach and go from there. If the kid is good, they'll be able to play wherever they want no matter what system they're in.

Lol. She played boys USYS and up a year. I guess you can claim that for USYS.

Way to refute what was said. If the kid is good they can punch their ticket. But your hanging on semantics and the USYS connection and not that the kid developed outside the mighty ECNL and GA programs. That is all that was being said but you were too stuck up to see it.

Yet you fail to discuss the other side. How many pros played ECNL and GA? The fact is the odds of playing pro from a USYS team is extremely small. Odds are still terrible from GA and ECNL, but much better.

Very few since neither has existed all that long

ECNL has been around for at least ten years and GA is a recycled GDA which has been around for seven(?). Of course the older pro players won't have played in either league but the younger ones will have, as well as all top D1 players
