    Radnor Soccer Club

Anyone else hearing that Radnor Soccer Club is looking to merge with another local area club?

Yes. Heard they were discussions about rolling up into LMSC. Not sure of the time frame, but maybe starting next fall season

So that would mean also rolling into fc europa too?

I personally don’t see what these merges do. If people would stay in there lane and just develop players instead of worrying about competing with every other club youth soccer would be in a far better place.

there's a million different leagues and clubs all trying to compete with each other so it now means there’s no clear pathway for players all born out of stupidity and greed.

there are too many youth clubs locally and if you want to keep players you need to offer different levels of competition. so clubs are looking to merger to be able to compete and keep numbers to a point you can afford high costing coaches, doc ect

Wonder if this has traction because of the rumor of a main line club getting MLS Next next year.

What rumor? So direct competing MLS with Union in same area? Not western PA? Bullcrap.

These are all examples of simple business failures. To succeed and thrive, you do not need to be the 10,000 pound corporate gorilla. You need to understand your target market and what mission/value statement you want to live by. The super clubs serve their purpose for the individuals looking for that model. The community clubs also serve a few important purpose, allowing young players become active, build life skills, team work, etc. The failure arises when the local clubs think they are or need to be bigger, that is where their purpose breaks down and their target market is lost to another smaller club.

Rumor of another MLS Next club somewhere on the mainline. That’s all the info I could get. Radnor possibly, but I don’t know anything about their teams. Makes sense if they merge with LM who have a number of good teams.

Doubt Radnor would be MLS Next. Could be Steel United given their interstate club affiliations

Radnor is not high quality soccer, but it can be a good club for most players. If it is your local club, stay there and enjoy. If you want to progress and play at another level just go to PF or Delco and see if you have the ability to play at those clubs. Do not ruin a nice town team like Radnor by pushing them to merge with another town team that loses all their good players as they age anyway.

Bingo! You are smarter than 90% of parent run club boards out there

Radnor will be a part of Sporting PA. Radnor Europa LMSC. MLS Next/GA backed by Tom Carlin. Will play out of Unions new facility in Chester

No chance Union allows another MLS next team (or any club for that matter) to play out of the WSFS complex, sorry but not even close to true. They may rent out the old YSC once Union moves though.

Thanks. More details than I heard but did hear Carlin was a player in this. Sounds like they will be come the Union’s youth second teams essentially.
