    SD GA program is decent.

Well they certainly will do a lot of small sided and large sided scrimmaging if that is this case.

I highly doubt that YSC will remain a sports facility after the sale. The property value has sky rocked since making the purchase from CD. If the zoning allows it you will see all of that gone and another corporate/retail building in its place. Without the Union that place won't make the money needed to stay open. As for a club like Radnor being able to do anything on a national level, it won't happen.

Girls get a GA team to give a quality alternative to the sometimes messy club situations at Delco and PF for that area. Again, coaching will likely be better than what PF and FCD can provide. Seems like a win-win proposition.
loll, what better coaching? Name one decent coach they have!

Clearly someone who has not looked at the Sporting DE staff. Same model will be given to the PA version. PF and FCD parents getting feelings hurt. Very sad.

Cleary you have not looked at the staff. Sure, all of these coaches have some sort of background, mostly hopping from club to club to make a buck, but none have done anything of significance in youth coaching prior to arriving at Sporting DE and still today nothing is happening beyond what Kirkwood, Concord and Hockessin did in the past, but without the high costs. In some cases it is the same guys from those clubs now wearing matching track suits at Sporting DE. I do think this club is good for DE, and DE have plenty of good players and a local option is better than having to drive to Plymouth Meeting or West Chester which is better for many families involved, but you have to be kidding that you think any of these coaches are anything but your basic youth soccer coach at a mid-level travel club.

I have some issues with Sporting getting auto ECNL badge (only to lose immediately) and then GA, but you are underestimating the coaching staff I think. They were able to offer some extra money to some really good coaches who took the opportunity. Ask anyone from PF or Delco about Chris Edwards and you'll get 95% positive responses as he's always been a really well respected coach. They are a great option for girls in DE or close who either aren't quite at the PF/Delco level or don't want to travel.

And most importantly lots of money to pay for all of it.

If PA wants to compete more on a national level, consolidation would be much better than more clubs.

PA does complete on a national level with the Union boys program. Otherwise, give the people more options and less BS

I am guessing most people consider the MLS academies a separate beast. Plus 95% of the discussions on TS is the girls side, so the post probably meant that where PF is the only national name and that isn't even at all age groups consistently.

PA has won national championships with a number different clubs over many many years. PA are just fine and has more than enough big clubs. Community clubs are just as important.

Almost all high level girl players from New Castle County play for PF. You can spin it any way you want, but if you want to play D1 you better make that trip to West Chester.

Meh, they just had a girl sign with Nova and several others sign with D-1 schools last year and more on the way this year. That's the Kool-Aid talking. PF is not the be all, end all for getting seen.
