Which club? There are only 8 clubs joining from VA-Maine.. So I would imagine only one PA club and it will probably be YMS- since they were in the EDP club v club division a few years ago. Enjoy the 4 hour road trips for league games.

Maybe Steel Soccer- they're already charging $2500 for crap teams, might as well travel 2 hours for league games to make it worthwhile.

The USYS leagues are all cost and little to show for it. The level of play is 4th rate. If the objective is to be seen by college coaches it doesn't happen. USYS regionals and nationals have about zero coaches showing up to see that games. It is a massive waste of money. On top of the USY/USYS league events, teams still have to travel to showcase events and play in lots of extra events, which add to the costs. People might have issues about the cost of ECNL or MLS Next, but it is pretty straight forward. IMO, if you aren't in ECNL or MLS Next, just play in local level leagues. Take the pressure of cost and travel off parents and just let the kids play.

Harsh but very true unfortunately. Very little exposure at the USYS level. ECNL tops for girls and MLS Next tops for boys. After that you’re left scrambling for scarps. USYS should merge with GA and at least get a 1A league together that could compete with ECNL. Right now the gap is way too wide.

If college exposure is your objective, then GA is on par with ECNL. Just go look at the coaches showing up at their college showcases.

There is nothing wrong with playing USYS level soccer, and EPYSA do a really good job providing playing opportunities for kids in the area. The US National and Regional leagues have always been poor because of management. USYS failed to run quality leagues, so the best clubs left for ECNL on the girls side and the boys to DA, now MLS Next. USYS need to stop trying to be something they are not. USYS are no longer a top tier program because they offer a very poor product. Club directors needs to understand that are putting a burden on parents and hurting the sport by entering their clubs into these leagues.

Wrong on ECNL, but there’s plenty of threads debating such.
Most boys dream of playing professionally (which means go directly to the pros and skip college), and (IMHO) most girls still think the goal is college (as college current feeds the pros and national teams). ECNL is designed for College, which is why is works so well for the girls. MLSNext currently works for the boys, but the truth is that the MLS Academies don't care if you play for an MLS club or not, they just want the best players.
