    FC Delco ECNL 06 Girls

What’s the deal with this team? Heard lot of talent, but results iffy.

Lost their coach who built them from a winless team over 3 years. Some players were still with HS teams until 2 weeks ago..

How about soccer wise? The usual bully ball or technical team?

Last years style was very direct because there was probably too much of an emphasis on the W/L record. The defenders are very good and there is enough skill on the roster to play a more deliberate game. They are very good on the counter attack. I would not call their style bully ball.

We will start to see in a few weeks what impact the coaching change had.

Ok kick and run works. I find it odd that teams that can play technical don't. If that's all they have then it is what it is but when they have the talent to play a possession style and don't it is maddening to watch.

4-5 nice passes and then the final player blasts it out of bounds or into a mess of players or right to the other team. Could even have been one of the players involved in the 4-5 pass buildup to that point. Did they not notice they just moved down the field passing the ball and not playing it from the back line to the front line........bombs away.

Solid group of players. Questionable coaching and club tactics.

There is a difference between kick and run and playing direct.

You are spot on with your "analysis" but that can really be said about most teams across all age groups at any club. In fact, it's how 99%:of the colleges play.

Where do coaches hide/give time to their second tier players? On the wing or outside mid, that’s where most build up plays end. Not many youth teams field a starting 11 that can play Barcelona or Man City ball

Pay attention and you'll notice the bigger issue is not playing through the midfield.

They lost 1-0 to PF. I think that says more about PF than it does FCD if FCD is so bad
