Any surprises at Spirit? Seems like there was a good field in the younger age groups.

Girls GA is a weak ass league.... teams were all poor.... At 08 their top team (SJEB) lost to a bottom ENCL (Delco) who lost to an average ECNL (Penn Fusion). Just a matter of time until the few decent GA clubs move to ECNL.

Makes sense. Judge a league on one team. Probably says alot about EPA/SJ/DE if all those teams are so bad.

Didn't the 08 PF team come in 2nd in their division last year AND added talent this year? Also wouldn't an "average ECNL" team be better then most top GA or USYS teams?

08 ECNL North Atlantic is pretty weak. D plays for PDA and there was not really challenge in the league for us. Partly why we did not do as well in the playoffs. 07 was even less competitive with PDA and MF being above the rest. 06 is a mess with Bethesda being the best of the lot. Dont know about 09s or 10s. Looks like PF won 09 and SJ won 10 at Spirit. Don't know anything about those teams.

But then PF took 1 from that Pipeline team that won one over Blue and PDA South took one from that same Pipeline team after they took the win over Blue. Really, looking at the scores from 08 ECNL last year, aside from the few +3 games, there were a lot of ties and +1 games. So, is it really a weak division (compared to the rest of what is in 08s in the area) or just balanced that any team could win on any given day?

PF 08 is very average.

Saw the second half of the SJ against Bucks in the '10 final and both teams looked really good. Impressed with Bucks and how they worked as a team. Their coach clearly does a good job with them. SJ was good though and won in extra time. Some highly skilled players on both teams. Did not look like a U12 game.

PF won '08, '09, '13 and lost in finals at '11 and '12. Not sure if that's a surprise, but it's a lot.

Spirit failed to attract any talented teams this year so PF hoisted a couple trophies in age groups where they field very average teams.
