NYCS-EDP League Cup tells ENYYSA to shove it

Excerpt from email EDP sent out today…

While ENYYSA has decided specifically for the EDP League Cup not to allow players to use the insurance that comes with their player passes, EDP Soccer is providing insurance for participating players and teams. A Certificate of Insurance will also be provided upon request for the fields being used by “Home” teams

Yeah and all games will be played in Tinton Falls, NJ. You see that as a win?

An unsanctioned self-insured event. What could possibly go wrong?

The insurance is the only thing that “sanctioning” really provides. If they get their own insurance elsewhere, who cares whether ENY sanctions it? Its not like they have an enforcement tram to come in and break up non-ENY sanctioned games anywhere on LI unless they get their cut….or do they???

With sanctioning comes licensed referees. Without sanctioning, god knows who they are going to use.

certainly the same licensed referees EDP uses all the time. ENY doesnt own referees either, cant stop them from working a non eny tournament. you really just have some axe to grind, dont you larry?

If they are self-insuring that means it isn't a USSF event. Which means no USSF licensed ref should be involved.

No ref will work it without sanctioning. You are wrong.

Not at all true. And if ENYYSA tried to block referees US Soccer would come down big time on the state association.

Agreed, looks like forms were updated and now says location of tournament is at home team fields.

its an organization, not a union like carpenters and/or a plumbers union. you really think your gonna see a giant rat set up at your next kiddie soccer game by some old @ss referee?
