Weakest graduating class from PDA. No ivy this year.

PDA is a wonderful club and I know lots of kids who play there. My kids play at MFA because it’s close and they love it there.

If you have a kid in the class of 22, especially the 2003 group it was a bit messy. Coaches not understanding how to handle test optional or manage their scholarships. Led to a lot of kids having offers pulled or never delivered after a verbal offer. For most it worked out in the end. For many it did not.

If each player is happy with their final outcome then that is what should be celebrated.
Sorry if people are attacking your scam of milking rich NJ families to make up for your own failed soccer career. These schools are ok. But just proof that soccer alone is NOT going to get you in a great school. Remember, go to the best school for you, and IF you can play soccer there, all the better. 2 years of free NJIT is not going to make up for 8 years of club fees

You're not getting into an Ivy with the grades. That's about academics, not the soccer.

There are maybe 3 or 4 schools there that I would be "gushing with pride" if my non soccer kids got into, but I guess my family has different standards. You hear those stories were kids have offers from Rutgers and Columbia, and pick Rutgers because of soccer. I went to Rutgers because I couldn't get into Columbia, but it's America, people can choose what they want
My D has no interest in Ivies. She wouldn't get in without soccer (was contacted by two Ivies) so why would she want to get in JUST for soccer. She is a mostly A student with APs--but that doesn't make you Ivy bound. You have to be entrepreneurial and really want it. My kid wants nothing to do with it. However, she IS committed to one of the top schools in the country - just not an Ivy. You can't think that everyone has Ivy dreams.

I love the posters calling people "degree snobs". I guess the quality of teachers, buildings and fellow students does NOT matter, but of course the quality of trainers, fields, and teammates matter when you choose a club. "Club snobs" think "degree snobs" are bad people. Of course we all know what matters more in REAL LIFE

This is really a sad commentary on the pressures kids feel these days because of the expectations their parents put on them and, in turn, put on themselves. Have you not been keeping up with all the student athletes (let alone young people in general) speaking out about the immense pressures they feel and the expectations people have for them. “Our family’s standards” is a dangerous statement. Your standards should be ones that allow your children to explore, take risks, seek their own happiness (not yours). If your child is one of the lucky ones, and it ultimately comes down to luck getting into an Ivy or equivalent for those students that qualify academically, then that’s wonderful for them (not you). Oh and there’s that debt thing too.

Not impressive. I may not care about “individual choices” but with a large number of commits we should expect access to very selective schools (athletically or academically). How do you really differentiate between PDA and MFA when the commits are pretty much an equivalent.

You don’t and that’s where the joke is on everybody. What’s the real end game?

I bet PDA made up some of these names. It's a shame PDA has to lie about this when awesome clubs like MF and PSA don't need to lie. Once again proving PDA is the worst club in NJ and the absolute worst place to stick your kid if she has any hopes of getting a scholarship. **** you PDA.
Which names don't you recognize? Most of those colleges are pretty well-known.
