Zero shots against or even just 2-3 isn't going to make any keeper better. Tougher shots seriously is a real stretch. I mean if they aren't facing tough shots how do they give up any goals at all?

Like a poster said above as a GK you want to be challenged. If you have a top notch defense protecting you that isn't going to happen as often. It's also why high school is s great testing ground (assuming you're teh starting GK because in high school there is rarely a rotation. Best GK starts and stays in the whole game unless there's a comfortable lead. Get used to that idea).
I agree that it is not a great situation for a GK to be on a dominant team, with little action. However, goalkeeping is about much more than just catching shots, and a poor team will teach the keeper bad habits. There is definitely a happy medium where the keeper is on a decent team at whatever level is a reasonable stretch for that keeper. The keeper gets to work with their back line to deal with shots, crosses, corners, pressure, distribution, and communication. If the defense is terrible, the GK will get lots of shots and 1v1, but not have a real opportunity to learn how to handle the rest in the right way, because the backline will have poor skills and tactical ability. Shots are the easiest thing to replicate in training - the rest is much easier to experience in games.

Spot on, CSA great option on both boys and girls. Very good keepers too especially at the older age groups.

Which goalies left CSA, they still have a few of the best in the state especially at the HS ages. They develop tremendous keepers especially on the girls side.

You’re running out of age groups….is that why they can’t compete in GA?

Most 03s graduated last year. Any that aren't planning on playing in college usually drop out senior year

Soccer aside, this thread is everything that is wrong with humanity. It is unfortunate that the ugliness has taken over kids sports. Grown people willing to cut each other down inn the name of their kids. Its not about the kids. It's your own flex. Truly despicable people. I feel very bad for your kids.

Goalies getting away with hard fouls this year with little resistance from refs. Shouldn’t all the players get protection? Not just goalies. Haven’t seen any GKs carded and some are dirty fouls
