GA is adding clubs for depth and travel ease. Nobody is saying these clubs will walk into top position in their region or the league but they have a chance to compete and level up. Offering another league might be appealing to a family driving hours for an ECNL badge. ECNL adds clubs from their regional teams, is that really better. Or is it better to have clubs like Stars have two mediocre teams in a division? Adding clubs is the right thing to do, whether the grow and develop into anything is up to the organization.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

You can't expect a team which is currently not in ECNL/GA to be that caliber when they first join. The idea is that by joining the league they will be able to recruit better players and get better over time (years). Expansion is a good thing. Underperforming teams are also dropping out of GA (see Metro ASA in mid Atlantic which is out for next year)Comment

Keystone is a pretty decent club. My kids ECNL team played them a couple years back at a tournament (I think 07s as U14) and they were pretty decent.Comment

How do you think they're going to improve? Where's the talent coming from? Players that wanted the league and are good enough are already in it. Some won't want the added travel expenses and drop out. There's only so much talent to go around in any geographic location. More teams = thinner rosters. And how will they improve the coaching?
