no affiliation to south shore select- thankfully- nor do I care where this coach ends up, but like others have commented going to a 3rd rate club like Mass City doesn't make any sense for him. MC is a small regional club of like 4 towns worst players looking to play club soccer at a non competitive level.

My kids play at one of the "bigger" clubs and we've met MC teams in past years. They might not have been as uniformly strong, but it was nothing like what you describe. There was some good stuff going on there with players and coaches.

Listen we’ve straight up asked and coaches are saying he’s not leaving. Let it go. If he does go that would be sad as all the players and parents love him, but there is no truth to this rumor. How about this. When he tells us we will be sure to send a team representative to this site to let you all know.

I think the bigger question has to be is why Select can not keep it's coaches? Every year we hear adnuseum how Select got this great, amazing, transformational coach who is going to turn the program into a national power. 8 months later this said coach is gone. This happens EVERY year! Why can't they keep any good coaches?

most of the problem is that 2 coaches control the entire GA program. They split 7 teams between BH and DM and they don't let any other coaches near those teams at all. You would think the SSS GA program is a huge national program at SSS because only 2 coaches are allowed to coach. Thus, when they get some new coach with an outstanding reputation they are immediately pigeon holed at SSS.

this statement is so true. Of all those "transformational" coaches that SSS brags about getting how many are still around coaching at SSS? None!

All SSS has is 2 main coaches and a few secondary coaches. It's the same 5/6 coaches that they have had for the past 7 years. MEH!

Any D-1 college commitments at Select? Haven't heard a thing. Back in their heyday every 2 seconds from Select we would hear about a Select commitment and weirdly nothing so far. How the mighty have fallen!!

Back to SSS and terrible lack of communication. How is it possible that select are still waiting on their permits for Union Point and haven’t provided a spring training schedule, but every other club that practices there has permits/schedule. Every email from the club starts with “thanks for your patience” as they literally have no clue what is going on and are too disorganized to even notice.

We are with Select. We have our spring schedule and game schedule. No apology emails. All is good. Person above a troll.
