Hello, New to NECSL. Flight 1 is tougher than Flight 2, right? Do the colors mean anything? Is Blue higher than White? Thank you

What do the colors Blue, White, Red colors mean for NECSL groupings?

NECSL is messed up right now. Looks like 1/4 of the teams got placed in appropriate divisions and the rest got screwed to waste time playing teams 2 -4 levels lower. Our age group went from 5 divisions to upwards of a dozen or so due to the NEP collapse.
I wouldn't put to much credence in the Blue vs Red sub-divisions being higher than the other at the moment. I believe Blue is supposed to be higher than Red, and in order of division; Championship > Flight 1 > Flight 2. Team designations like, black, white, navy, blue, red...is specific to the clubs and not always accurate for determining level.
My hope at this point, is that NECSL is letting the good teams rise to the top and will hopefully readjust the league/division team placements for Spring 23.

Thanks so much. I wish they could switch it up mid season like they do for Bays...we are too high a division.

In our division blue is code for “north” and red is “south”. Not sure why they didn’t use north and south.

The National league is separate (on a separate website), and much higher level obviously.

It's basically a new league given all the incoming clubs this season... give them a chance to re-adjust properly. And side note, most of the incorrect placement falls on the clubs not on the league itself.
