There are too many one-and-dones to even count in this process. Once you're out there on a field any possible club influence goes out the window. Make it to more than one event/on a regular basis then you've got something.

Do we know what the club or league breakdown is? Where would you find these lists?

Top drawer soccer usually has the lists of players called into full YNT camps and the regional ID camps as well.

There are some politics and some regional geographic bias early in the process (early u14 camps), but I can assure you that fades quickly as the process / age progress and the players play and train against each other. Elite Players are constantly scouted and evaluated. Top level youth soccer is a much smaller community than you think and elite talent is pretty well known by players / coaches / scouts. Do some players fly under the radar or bloom late? Of course. Do scouts sometimes miss on evaluations? Of course. Both are true in every single sport.

Good post. There's plenty that get one invite, maybe two, then that's it. Get consistent callups and there's something special there. Starting around U16 there's some clarification on who those players are, but yes some will drop out and some late bloomers are added.

Same thing. It is DoC recommendations but they like to tell you it was scouts so other players and parents dont get upset when they see who gets selected. As someone who has seen this for years, you will always be confused by some selections and some of the deserving kids who get ignored. Not worth worrying about.

This is mostly true. DOC recommends, regional camps are attended and maybe you are called back or not….but Scouts DO attend events both locally and nationally. Your play outside of camps does make a difference and people are watching, including film if you make it available.
