Just when you thought this thing had died down...

      http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/...want_to_a.html

These parents continue to set a bad example for their daughters.

      Taken from article --

Mary Ellen Dunn, a parent of a girl on the team that was allegedly involved in hazing incidents last month, said she was speaking on behalf of the team when she addressed the committee during the public comment period of the meeting tonight. She said the group would like to make a presentation when the school committee meets again on Dec. 7.

Dunn, echoing other parents' comments on the matter over the last several days, said the hazing occurred on Oct. 29 outside of school and was resolved among the girls involved before the next school day.

The decision by the school administration to suspend senior girls involved was “a misjudgement,” she said.

      --

So, becasue the hazing took place 'outside of school', it is ok? Because teenagers, who didn't have the ability to determine that any hazing is unnaccpetable, 'resolved' it themselves, it is OK? As a result of all that, the administration made a 'misjudgement'?

      Unbelievable...

"Another Needham resident, J.P. Pages, spoke during the comment period about the incident. He said the school suspended the girls under a statue forbidding hazing, but the same statue requires the school to give copies of the hazing policy to all coaches. The coaches, in turn, are supposed to relay the policy to each athlete, he said.

Pages said his two children who have attended Needham High never received the policy, and he has spoken with other parents who have said their children never received it, either."

Uh-oh. Looks like they are now accusing the coach and AD with violating school, state and MIAA rules/laws.

Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 269, Sections 17-19 and 603 CMR 33.00, all
secondary schools, both public and private, must:
          · adopt anti-hazing policies as part of their disciplinary policies, and
          · distribute copies of the anti-hazing law to all students enrolled full-time; to all student groups, teams, and organizations that are part of or are recognized by the school, or are permitted by the school to use its name and facilities; and to all known unaffiliated student groups, teams, or organizations.

Every year, secondary school principals or headmasters must:
          · collect a signed acknowledgement from a contact person for each student organization
regarding distribution of information and agreement to comply with the law
          , and
          · submit a report to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (“the
Department”) certifying that the school has complied with the law. The reports must be filed
with the Department on or before October 1. By November 1, the Department must notify
the Attorney General of any school that has not filed a report.

You Needham parents that continue to fight this are just pathetic! Take ownership for goodness sake.

Wonder if Coach T filed one of these forms in accordance with Mass State Law???? Wonder if the AD and school prinicipal made sure he did?

This is used to be done at Needham High. Unless absolutely nothing happened it is time to let it go and move on.

It was obvious about 50 pages ago that there was a whole lot more to this then a handful of meany seniors torturing freshmen, but some of you dopes take a whole lot longer to figure it out. People believe what they want to believe. That's why we have a president with NO experience running this country!

There is no "truth" dopey. That's the point. You are looking for the "truth" and someone you can blame. This was a major misunderstanding with a whole lot of people involved that got blown out of proportion thanks to misinformation from a news report. Yet you dopes want a coach fired and girls given long term suspensions and the loss of their scholarships. You are the definition of a vigilante.

                            Definition of VIGILANTE
: a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law are viewed as inadequate); broadly : a self-appointed doer of justice

"Vigilante justice" is sometimes spurred on by the perception that criminal punishment is either nonexistent or insufficient for the crime.

Persons seen as "escaping from the law" or "above the law" are sometimes the targets of vigilantism.

Violence is not a necessary criterion. Vigilante behavior may differ in degree of violence. In some cases vigilantes may assault targets verbally.

More parent deflection from Needham. Whatever happened to responsibility for one's actions? There was a hazing incident carried out by the seniors. It is black and white. Dog collars? Suspensions are over soon and no-one will lose a scholarship (there is only one D1 scholarship player on the team anyway). Just accept it and be done.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but as I've said at least a dozen times, I'm not from Needham, but I do know there are 2 D1 scholarships on the team. Also, reports in the newspaper now indicate the dog collar should be singular. So in 6 sentences you managed to insert 3 facts that are wrong. You don't work for WBZ do you?
