The question is should pay be based on performance (paid more for winning trophies) or paid based on how much $ a team generates? Or a bit of both? If the MNT didn't get a taste of the tremendous FIFA action they'd get paid less than the women based on both performance and income.

Flawed argument. Why are all NWSL players not paid the same? Why is Rodman paid 1.1 MM over 4 yrs while some players are paid 35k/yr ? This argument revolves around a specific class of player and was created by USSF. As soon as they made NT play a job, they created this legal loophole. Nowhere else in the world is a players income decided by whether they are selected for their NT or not. The equalization of pay is coming from the MNT agreeing to pool FIFA bonuses. Good luck to the women who benefit from this, but this is not some big win for women. That would be increasing salaries and standards in the NWSL and that has not happened to anythin like the same level. base salary went fro ridiculous 22k to very bad 35k. Big % increase, sure, but still laughable. Why so low? Because the revenue does not support much more.

Perhaps NWSL can sue MLS (or NBA, MLB, and NFL) to share their profits since they work just as hard and deserve it.

Imagine being a sales person and selling twice as much as your female counterpart, but getting the same bonus due to "equality". You would be pissed about it and rightfully so.
