Good point. I can see a full academy with 6 or 8 teams or so training side by side on that one field with the senior team. 9v9's will fit right in and there's plenty of time to squeeze that all in and in winter they'll just dress warmly.

No, schmuck, the Day Hill facility - an actual sweet place to be - has run out of funding multiple times over the last 3 years. It seems to be on track again for "this winter".

More like “signed the broke ***” original investor in Day Hill. Which is still to small matter.

Even the Day Hill owner kid? That’s a travesty!

You said the same thing years ago. Obviously you’re still an idiot.

The club hasn't been around more than a couple of years. Give it time.

Just curious. Are you saying pro sports in Hartford won't work, or just Hartford Athletic soccer?

Not the poster but it's tough for many of these teams to make it long term. There's been multiple failures in CT with different teams. Smaller state, big sports teams in NY and MA. Time will tell, it's still new and novel. They definitely don't have $ to put into youth teams but would no doubt like to make a few $ from youth teams if they can.

Small market, outside of UCONN basketball, little success. The state latched on to both of those teams though.

Whalers left years ago. UConn football draws less fans than most high school games. Minor League baseball teams have had a bunch leave the state. CT is a UConn men and women’s basketball state and that’s it

Don't forget how popular the Westport ******** are with the huge crowds they draw on game day. To see the mafia yelling, stretching and testing the limits of their plastic surgery is a sight to see. Goooo Staples

Minor league teams work for a few years as new cheap family entertainment. But will all fail after a few years In ct. happens with every minor league baseball team. When you can’t follow players on tv or on the news the team has very little chance long term. Once every family has gone once or twice that is pretty much it. Corporations may buy tickets the first few years. Then down the road they can’t even give away tickets for free to their employees they scratch that idea. See the Bridgeport bluefish.

Also see golf simulator places and axe throwing. Yeah interesting and fun once or twice. Then they all disappear.

HA should keep pushing the women's programming, and also continue to build out their academy offering. Also USL should institute pro/rel to make the league more intersting.
